June 27, 2008 - Police highway patrol and Philadelphia Police Chief, Charles Ramsey have a photo opp. in front of the Art Museum. I stumbled upon this by accident. I drove into the city to do some biking and saw all of the police activity.

What I found out later was that three brand new Harley motorcycles were donated to the Philadelphia Police Highway Patrol Friday.

“The motorcycles were gifts from Bernard and Harriett Gross, James Binns, and Philadelphia residents.“

This is why it pays to have your camera at all times… I think I got some great shots.

During a segment discussing conservative attacks against Michelle Obama, the wife of presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama, the network described the former as “Obama’s baby mama.” (Salon.com)

Update: ABC News’ “Senior National Correspondent,” Jake Tapper calls the Fox News gaffe: “just straight-up racist” Was it ’straight up racist’ or, as Fox News would have you believe, ‘poor judgment’ executed by a producer?

Website peddles racially-charged ‘Sock Obama’ toy
Last month, ThinkProgress noted that a bar owner in Georgia was selling t-shirts comparing Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) to Curious George; last week, the Black Congressional Caucus Foundation received an t-shirt in the mail featuring a similar image. Continuing this racially-charged theme, a stuffed monkey toy called “The Sock Obama” has now been made available online. (ThinkProgress.com)

I will keep this list updated with other absurd and down right frightening expressions of blatant racism as it becomes available (which should keep be busy in the months to come). Sad.

I was mountain biking through Valley Green along the Wissahickon Creek today.. stopped to take some photos of ducks, when I heard lound splashing coming from the creek.. turned around and saw these young adults base jumping from a bridge. These guys took about 4-5 jumps before the police showed up and ran them off. It’s against park regulations to jump off the bridge. I’ve got a short video of the police intervention but Flickr won’t take it.
